16. Maintenance and Cleaning

a) General Information
Regularly check the technical safety of the product e.g. for damage of the housing.
If there is reason to believe that safe operation has become impossible, put the product out of
operation and secure it against any unintended operation. Remove the batteries.
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible, if:
- the device exhibits visible damage,
- the device does not operate any longer and
- the device was stored under unfavorable conditions for a long period of time or
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
Before cleaning the device or performing maintenance, the following safety notes must
be observed:
Remove the batteries before cleaning, servicing or repairing the device.
There are no serviceable parts inside the product; the housing must not be opened (except for
changing the batteries as described in this operating manual).
Repairs may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the hazards
involved and the relevant regulations.
b) Cleaning the base station
Dust can be easily cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and a clean soft brush. Keep the opening
of the vacuum cleaner near the base station (do not touch, scratch marks are possible) and
remove dust with the brush. The dispersed dust is sucked by the vacuum cleaner.
To clean the outer surface, use a soft, dry and lint-free cloth.
For stronger contamination, you can moisten the cloth with lukewarm water. Make sure that
no liquid gets into the device!
Never use aggressive cleansing agents or chemical solutions since this might damage the
surface of the housing or impair operation.
