d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power
tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired by qualified technical
personnel or an authorised ROLLER service shop before use. Many accidents
are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended
could result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
Specific Safety Warnings
WARNING
● Use only genuine ROLLER die heads!
● Always use the counter-steady (3), otherwise it is possible for the machine to be
wrenched out of the hands and overturned as increasing torque is applied.
● ROLLER'S thread-cutting oils in spray cans (ROLLER'S Smaragdol, ROLLER'S
Rubinol 2000) are environment-friendly but contain combustible propellant
(butane). Spray cans are pressurized – do not force open. Also, protect them
from exposure to strong sunlight and heating above 50°C.
● Due to the degreasing effect of the cooling lubricants (thread-cutting oils), an
intensive skin contact has to be avoided. A skin protector with a greasing effect
must be applied.
NOTICE
● Do not allow undiluted cooling lubricant to get into drainage, water systems or
the soil. Remaining cooling lubricants have to be delivered to specialized waste
disposal companies. Disposal identity number for mineral-based cooling lubricants
54401, for synthetic 54109.

2. Operating

2.1. Electrical connection
Before connecting, check that the mains voltage corresponds with the data on
the type plate. Extension cable must be at least 1,5 mm² cross section.
2.2. Thread cutting medium and oils
Use only ROLLER thread-cutting oils. You will have perfect threading results,
long durability of dies as well as high protection of the drive unit. ROLLER
recommends the use of the practical and economical spray can.
2.2.1. ROLLER'S Smaragdol: High-alloyed, mineral based hread-cutting oil. For
all materials: steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, plastics. Pleasant to
work with. Washes out with water, approved by experts.
NOTICE
Mineral based thread-cutting oils are not permitted for drinking water installa-
tions in some countries, e.g. Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In this case,
use the mineral oil-free ROLLER'S Rubinol.
2.2.2. ROLLER'S Rubinol: Mineral oil-free, synthetic thread-cutting oil for drinking
water supplies. Completely water-soluable. Complies with regulations: in
Germany DVGW Approval No. DW-0201AS2032, in Austria ÖVGW Approval
No. W 1.303, in Switzerland SVGW Approval No. 7808-649. Viscosity at –10°C:
190 mPa s (cP). Pumpable to –28°C. No water added. Easy to use. Dyed red
for rinse-out inspection.
Both types of thread-cutting oils are available in spray cans as well as in cans
and barrels.
Use thread-cutting oils only undiluted!
