● Only connect the drive units of protection class I to a socket/extension lead
with a functioning PE conductor. There is a danger of electric shock.
● Check the power cable of the machine and extension leads regularly for
damage. Have these renewed by qualifi ed experts or an authorised ROLLER
customer service workshop in case of damage.
● Only use approved and appropriately marked extension leads with a suffi -
cient cable cross-section. Use extension leads up to a length of 10 m with
cable cross-section 1.5 mm², from 10 – 30 m with cable cross-section 2.5 mm².
● Never let the machine operate unattended. Switch off the machine during
longer work breaks, pull out the mains plug. Machines can cause hazards
which lead to material damage and/or injury when left unattended.
● Only allow trained persons to use the machine. Apprentices may only use
the machine when they are over 16, when this is necessary for their training and
when they are supervised by a trained operative.
● Children and persons who, due to their physical, sensory or mental abilities
or lack of experience and knowledge are unable to operate the machine
safely may not use this machine without supervision or instruction by a
responsible person. Otherwise there is a risk of operating errors and injuries.

2. Start-up
Transport weights above 35 kg must be carried by at least 2 persons. When
transporting and installing the machine, please note that the machine has a
high centre of gravity with and without the base frame, i.e. it is top heavy.
2.1. Electrical connection
WARNING
Caution: Mains voltage present! Before connecting the ROLLER'S Rotor
RG, ROLLER'S Rotor RG 2, ROLLER'S Robot U-RG, ROLLER'S Robot K-RG,
ROLLER'S Robot D-RG check that the voltage specifi ed on the rating plate
corresponds to the mains voltage. Only connect drive units of protection class
I to a socket/extension lead with a functional PE conductor. On building sites,
in a wet environment, indoors and outdoors or under similar installation condi-
tions, only operate the electrical device on the mains with a fault current protected
switch (FI breaker) which interrupts the power supply as soon as the leakage
current to earth exceeds 30 mA for 200 ms.
2.2. Roller groove machine ROLLER'S Robot RG
See ROLLER'S Robot instruction manual: The machine can be lifted at the
front by the guide arms (8) and at the rear by a pipe clamped into a quick-action
hammer chuck (1) and guide chuck (2) for transport.
Fix the machine to ROLLER'S Werkmeister (accessory, Art. No. 120200) or
one of the base frames (accessory, Art. No. 344105, 344100) with the 4 screws
provided. Make sure that the machine is horizontal. Open the quick-action
hammer chuck (1). Push the roller grooving unit in the guide arms (8) until the
drive shaft of the roll grooving unit protrudes into the quick-action hammer

chuck with its 3 faces. Close the quick-action hammer chuck until the clamping

jaws are in contact with the 3 faces of the drive shaft. With the clamping ring
