TABLE 1 - TROUBLESHOOTING
POSSIBLE CAUSES
a) The internal parts are blocked by foreign bodies:
b) Clogged suction pipe:
c)
Air inside the suction pipe
d) The pump is not primed:
The suction pressure is too low and generally accompanied by
e)
cavitation noises:
f)
Insufficient motor voltage:
Faulty anchoring to the surface:
a)
b) Foreign bodies obstruct the pump:
Obstructed pump rotation:
c)
d) Faulty electrical connection:
Insufficient voltage:
a)
b) Pump obstructed by foreign bodies:
c)
Room temperature exceeding +40°C:
d) Connection error in the terminal block:
The motor does not run at normal speed (foreign bodies or
a)
faulty power supply, etc.):
b) Faulty motor:
c)
Poor pump filling:
d) The motor turns in the wrong direction (three-phase motor):
The drain-priming plug or its insert are not screwed in
e)
completely:
f)
Insufficient motor voltage:
a) Thermal relay value too low:
b) Voltage too low:
c)
Phase down:
d) Faulty thermal relay:
a) The suction height has not been adhered to:
b) The suction pipe diameter is smaller than that of the pump:
c)
The strainer and the suction pipe are partially clogged.
a) The coupling is not in position
SOLUTIONS
Disassemble the pump and clean.
Clean the pipe.
Check the watertight integrity of the entire pipe up to the pump
and waterproof it.
Prime the pump.
Check the tightness of the foot valve.
Too many pressure drops on the suction side or the suction height
is too high (check the NPSH of the installed pump).
Check the voltage of the motor terminals and the correct cross-
section of the conductors.
Check and fully tighten the nuts of the stud bolts.
Disassemble the pump and clean.
Check that the pump turns freely without any abnormal
resistances.
Check the connections to the pump.
Check the voltage at the motor terminals. The voltage must be ±
6% of the rated voltage.
Disassemble the pump and clean.
The motor is designed to operate at a maximum room temperature
of + 40°C.
Follow the instructions in the motor manual, refer to the
installation instructions.
Dismantle the pump and correct the anomaly.
Replace it.
Repeat the pump filling procedure (chapter 7.1)
Reverse the direction of rotation by crossing 2 phase wires at the
terminal block of the motor or the cut-out switch.
Check and screw it again.
Check the voltage to the motor terminals and the correct cross-
section of the conductors.
Check the intensity with an ammeter or record the intensity value
according to the motor rating plate.
Check that the cross-section of the electrical cable conductors is
correct.
Check and replace the electric cable or fuse if required.
Replace it.
Review the installation conditions and recommendations provided
in this manual.
The suction pipe must have the same diameter as the pump
suction hole.
Clean the suction pipe.
Follow the instructions for INSTALLING THE MOTOR to position
the coupling; use the positioning template
