TEST SOLUTION

affect draft. In these cases a small amount of smoke
may enter the home. Adding more pipe may help.

This is normal. The blower will come on when the
appliance is heated up enough to heat the room.

Check the household breaker or fuse to make sure it is
operable.

Appliance door must be closed for blower to operate.

The air leading into the fi rebox could come from the
exterior. In these cases this air comes into the fi rebox
and exits the chimney. This will not damage the
appliance.

appliance or chimney?

Is the smoke fl ow impeded by too long of a horizontal
pipe or too many bends?

Is it a weak draft perhaps caused by a leaky chimney,
a cold outside chimney, too short a chimney, or a
chimney too close to a tree or a higher roof?
