7. Remedies for malfunctioning (Trouble-shooting)

General
Malfunctioning mostly only occurs
when the machine is not treated
properly, maintained or serviced.
The following table includes the
most likely malfunctions to occur
and their remedying.
In cases of further disruptions,
please contact your nearest Brill
Service Centre or the specialist
dealer authorised by Brill.
Malfunction
Abnormal noises, clattering in
the machine.
Unsteady running, strong
vibration of the machine.
Mower leaves deep furrows.
The grass is tawny.
Irregular cut.

Caution ! For safety reasons,

only original Brill spare
parts are to be used or those ap-
proved by Brill.
Possible Cause
Loose screws on the motor, its
fixing pieces or the mower housing.
Damage to the cutter bar or cutter
(unbalanced running), cutter bar
holder on the motor drive shaft
loose.
Ground soaks through,
lawn too wet.
Cutter too blunt.
Cutting height set too low.
We would draw attention to the
fact that, under the product liability
legislation, we are not liable for
loss or damage caused by our
products when such are caused by
improper repairs or when during
an exchange of parts such parts are
used which are not manufactured
by or approved by ourselves, and
the repairs are not carried out by
an authorised Brill service
or an authorised specialist dealer.
The same restrictions also apply for
supplementary and accessory parts.
Remedy
Tighten all screws.
Tighten the cutter and cutter bar
fixture screws.
Have damaged parts replaced by
the Brill service centre.
Allow lawn to dry, do not use
mower on wet grass.
Change and/or turn cutter,
respectively.
Set the cutting height a little higher.
