12. Service life

Tractel® textile PPE such as harnesses, lanyards, ropes and energy absorbers, Tractel®
mechanical PPE such as Stopcable
arrest devices and Tractel® lifelines and anchor devices may be used from their manufacturing date
providing that they:

are used normally in accordance with the operating instructions in this manual.
•
undergo periodic inspections, performed at least once a year by an approved and trained
technician. On completion of the periodic inspection, the PPE must be certified in writing
as fit to be returned to service.
•
are stored and transported in strict compliance with the conditions stated in this manual.
•
As a general rule, subject to the conditions for use stated above, their service life may
exceed 10 years.
13. Disposal
When disposing of the product, all components must be recycled after first separating into metal
and synthetic materials. These materials must be recycled by specialist bodies. During disposal,
dismantling into separate components is to be carried out by trained individuals.
