SPEED SYSTEM ADJUSTMENT
The speed system must be properly adjusted to suit the pilot and harness in order to permit full
deployment of the accelerator. First of all, the risers must be attached to the harness karabiner
and the cords must be attached to the speed system on the riser using the C-clips. With the pilot
sitting in the harness the risers must be extended to simulate the position in flight. It is useful to
have a second person around to assist.
Now the footbar can be attached to the ends of the cords, adjusted so that it is sufficiently long
to be able to "step in" while gliding and short enough so that full deployment is possible, to pro-
vide maximum acceleration. Once the system is adjusted the C-clips can be released to allow the
paraglider to be removed from the harness before packing, and there is no need to re-adjust the
speed system before the next flight.
