2.7 Assembly of collectors next
to each other
(installed height up to 20 m on tiled roof)
Preparations:
The following items are to be provided on site:
Per collector 8 x baseplate screws, galvanized,
Ø > 5 mm, or screwnail, galvanized, Ø > 4 mm.
Each collector array requires 4 roof battens
(thickness of the existing roof battens) x 60
x (length of the collector array) and their
fastening elements plus 12 galvanized nails
(1.5 x 20). Appropriate lining is required if
the roof battens exceed 40 mm in height. The
roof battens must be free of knotholes, cracks,
notches or damage.
Check that the pack contains the following

- 1 x lead flashing (2)
- 1 set mounting brackets (3)
- 1 x cover hood (4)
- 1 set sealing strips (5)
- 1 x tile lifter (6)
- 1 set nuts and bolts (7)
The side cover set (22 13 64) contains the

- 1 each left/right side cover (8)
- 6 x clamps (9)
- 6 x clamps (10)
- 1 x left-hand end strip (11)
- 1 x right-hand end strip (12)
- 1 x collector sensor well (13)

- 2 x corrugated hose (16)
- 2 x duct (17)
- 4 x washer (18)
- 2 x nut (19)
Method:
Check the pitch of the roof. Minimum roof pitch
30°. Where the pitch is steeper, additional
work is to be undertaken by a roofer,
depending on the type of the roof. Select
securing point; make provision for later pipe
ducts through the tensioned underlay, roof
insulation, etc.
