WARNING: Never attempt to open the battery
pack for any reason. If the plastic housing of the bat-
tery pack breaks or cracks, return to a service centre
for recycling.
READ ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE CHARGER SEC-
TION OF THIS MANUAL BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CHARGE
THE BATTERY PACK FOR YOUR TOOL.
▪ Always use correct SPARKY battery pack (the one
supplied with tool or a replacement pack exactly like
it.) Never install any other battery pack. It will ruin
your tool and may create a hazardous condition.
▪ Charge battery packs only in SPARKY chargers.
▪ The battery pack utilizes nickel-cadmium cells. Cad-
mium is considered to be a toxic material. Use an en-
vironmentally safe disposal unit at a municipal waste
disposal centre to dispose of a damaged or worn out
battery.
FITTING AND REMOVING THE
BATTERY PACK
To remove the battery pack from the drill: firmly press
the battery release tabs (10) at either side of the battery
pack, and pull the battery downward out of the tool.
Prior to inserting the battery pack ensure the switch is in
OFF position.
To install the battery pack: align the rail on the tool with
the groove on the battery pack and push the battery pack
on to the drill. Ensure the battery pack is sitting straight
on the foot and correctly entering the runners. The bat-
tery should slide fully on to the drill foot until the battery
pack "clicks" into position.
BATTERY CHARGING
WARNING: The battery will be fully charged
after 1 hour, remove it from the charger after this time.
1. Plug in the charger to the wall outlet. The green LED
(13) will be lit, thus indicating presence of supply volt-
age.
2. Align and slide the battery pack onto the charger until
the battery pack latches "click" into position. Check
that there is a firm connection between the battery
and the charger groove. The red LED (12) will glow,
thus indicating beginning of charging, and the green
LED will turn off.
3. The battery charging time is approximately 1 hour.
The red LED goes out when the charging cycle is
complete and the green light goes on.
4. Unplug the charger power cable from the mains and
then remove the battery from the charger.
TO OBTAIN THE BEST LIFE FOR THE
BATTERY
▪ Do not recharge battery after a short operation to avoid
decreasing operation time and battery capacity.
Original instructions
▪ Avoid conducting short charges. Make sure that the bat-
tery is fully charged every time by allowing the charger to
complete its full charging cycle.
▪ When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other
metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws,
or other small metal objects that can make a connection
from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery termi-
nals together may cause fire or explosion.
▪ Always unplug the charger when not in use and store in a
dry secure place.
▪ Do not charge battery packs and do not store the charger
in premises where the temperature may drop under 32ºF
(0ºC) or exceed 104°F (40°C).
BATTERY INDICATOR
The battery state is indicated by three LEDs (4). To acti-
vate the battery indicator feature just switch the reverse
button (6) to his left and push the switch (5). The three
LEDs indicate three levels of charge remaining in the

mains glowing (low level) the battery should be removed
