8.4.1

Start-up after a scheduled shut-down

Before any start-up or after longer periods of decommissioning of the machine, the following
procedure must be followed:
- Check general condition.
- Ensure all safety equipment is operational.
- Ensure all safety devices are correctly fitted.
- Ensure that the necessary servicing (see Maintenance) has been carried out.
Before you can take the heating unit into operation, you will require the following:
- CEE socket 63 A fused 3 x 50 A (EHA18E, EHA27E).
- Water to fill the water tank (23).
- Tank with the juice to be heated.
- The downstream tank and filling machine to process the heated juice.
For commissioning, follow this procedure:
- Close the juice drainage tap (27) and the water drainage tap (28).
- Fill the water tank (23) of the heating unit until the level switch lies approx. 5 cm below the water
surface.
- Connect the tank with the juice to be heated with a hose to the juice inflow (22) of the heating
unit (NW 25).
- The juice outlet (16) must also be connected with the downstream tank (NW 25) using a hose.
- The models EHA18E, EHA27E and EHA45E offer the opportunity to connect a filling machine or
a buffer tank with integrated level switch to the heating unit using the plug-in connection for the
level control (18).
- If the ongoing path of the juice is not regulated via a level switch, plug the blind plug onto the
connector for level control (18).
- Plug the mains plug into the matching CEE socket with appropriate fusing. The heating unit
EHA45E must have a fixed connection with appropriate fusing.
- The heating unit is switched on using the main switch (19).
- Switch the water pump on using the selector Heating (34).
- Now the outer pipe of the heat exchanger is filled with water. Should now the level control light
Low water level (35) light up, please add water to the water tank (23), until the level switch is
covered with water.
- Now switch the water pump and the heating on using the selector Heating (34).
- After the water has reached the set temperature, you can switch on the juice pump with the
selector juice pump (30) and the production can commence.
