Installation instructions

Only competent and trained persons (experts) may in-
stall, repair and carry out the functional test on the
Truma product in accordance with the installation and operat-
ing instructions and the currently accepted technical regula-
tions. Experts are persons who, based on their specialist in-
struction and training, their knowledge and experience with
Truma products and the relevant standards, can carry out the
necessary work properly and identify potential hazards.
Read the installation instructions carefully before working,
and then comply with them!
Disregarding safety instructions or erroneous in-
stallation can put people in danger and cause
damage to property.

Intended use

The Ultraheat additional electric heater is suitable for instal-
lation in an S 3004, S 3004 P, S 5004 or S 5004 E NL heater.
The additional heater is attached to the installation box of the
heater and sits between the installation box and the heat ex-
changer. An electrical connection with 230 V ~ 50 Hz (8.5 A)
is required to operate the additional heater.
Other applications are only permitted after prior consultation
with Truma.

Regulations

Guarantee claims, warranty claims and acceptance of liability
will be ruled out in the event of the following:
– Modifications to the device (including accessories)
– Modifications to the exhaust duct and the cowl
– Failure to use original Truma parts as replacement parts and
accessories
– Failure to follow the installation and operating instructions
This may also invalidate the device operating permit, which in
many countries also denotes cancellation of the vehicle oper-
ating permit.

Retrofitting

Retrofitting an Ultraheat additional electric heater requires re-
moval of the heater including the installation box and the fan,
and may only be carried out by an expert.
After removal, the additional heater is installed in the installa-
tion box as described under "Initial installation".
It is essential to fit a new O-ring (34) before re-connect-
ing the exhaust pipe.

Initial installation

S 3004, S 3004 P
Break through pre-punched opening (U) in the installa-
tion box (1) for leading through the control electrics.
Insert heating element (70) from the inside of the installation
box (1) and secure with six B 3.5 x 9.5 mm screws.
Install the installation box (1) and the TEB-3 or TN-3 fan as
described in the installation instructions for the heater.

Perform remainder of heater installation as per the installation
instructions for the relevant heater.
S 5004, S 5004 E NL
Break through pre-punched opening (U) on the outer
part of the installation box (1) for leading through the
control electrics.
Break off the lower part of the installation box inner section (2)
at the perforation (2a).
Insert heating element (70) from the inside of the installation
box outer section (1) and secure with six B 3.5 x 9.5 mm
screws.
Install outer (1) and inner (2) parts of installation box and in-
stall TEB-3 or TN-3 fan as described in the heater installation
instructions.
