Regulations

Guarantee claims, warranty claims and acceptance of liability
will be ruled out in the event of the following:
modifications to the unit (including accessories),
modifications to the exhaust duct and the cowl,
failure to use original Truma parts as replacement parts
and accessories,
failure to follow the installation and operating instructions.
It also becomes illegal to use the appliance, and in some
countries this even makes it illegal to use the vehicle.
The year of initial commissioning must be crossed off
on the type plate (66)
The installation in the vehicle must comply with the techni-
cal and administrative provisions of the respective country
in which it is used (e.g. EN 1949). National instructions and
regulations (e.g. the DVGW worksheet G607 in Germany)
must be considered.
Further information on the regulations in the corresponding
country of destination can be requested from our international
representatives (see Truma service booklet or www.truma.com).

Special instructions for installation

Always install the device and its waste gas discharge in a way
that allows easy access for servicing and which also allows
the parts to be easily dismantled and refitted again.

Choosing the position of the heater

The driver may not come into contact with the heater from
the driver's seat during travel. The heater may not be installed
directly behind the driver's seat.
Using the installation template, check whether the floor cut-
out for the combustion air extraction should be on the left
or right. The combustion air may not be taken from the
inside of the vehicle. The combustion must always be
fed from outside. The combustion air extraction may not
be in the spray area from the wheels, otherwise a splash
guard should be attached.
The cut-out in the floor for the device must be designed
to prevent any polluted air (exhaust gases, fuel or oil
vapours) from entering the inside of the vehicle.
They may not be any heat-sensitive materials
under the unit (cut out any carpet). Discolouration on
PVC floors can be caused by the floor base becoming warm.
There may not be any flammable/heat-sensitive materials on
the vehicle underfloor near to the combustion air extraction,
or they must be protected against thermal influences
(e.g. with a heat screen).
If the heater is mounted to a base, false floor or similar, an
air intake extension must always be used (part no. 30030-
04800, 50 cm length). The extraction extension must be ex-
tend freely in the air flow approx. 5 to 10 cm under the lowest
point on the vehicle (observe the floor clearance of the vehi-
cle). 2 extraction extensions for the S 5004 are required.
The base or false floor must be tightly opposite the vehicle
interior and not made of a flammable material or covered
on the inside with sheet metal. In order to avoid the
accumulation of unburned gas, the base must have
a vent measuring min. 2 cm² at the lowest point or must
be open towards the bottom.

Choosing the position of the exhaust cowl

The heating can only be operated with a roof cowl.
It may only be installed vertically or with a maximum
inclination of 15°!
The position of the exhaust cowl must be selected so that
the heating is always free in the air flow during operation of
the heating. Roof installations can disturb the function of the
heating.
The manufacturer of the vehicle or the installer of the heating
must establish a combination of cowl top / extension depend-
ing on the installation situation in the vehicle with test drives
and may need to coordinate with Truma. Depending on the
vehicle type and the roof structures, a cowl top T2 (part no.
30700-02) or T3 (part no. 30700-03) may be necessary. The
cowl top T3 is especially developed for motorcaravans.
An additional cowl extension AKV (part no. 30010-20800)
must be installed if necessary. These must be secured with a
screw.
An open sunroof / lifting roof in the area of the exhaust
cowl involves the danger of exhaust gas entering the
vehicle interior. The cowl may therefore never be placed near
this opening. If this is not fully possible, the heating may only
be operated with the sunroof / lifting roof closed. In order to
clarify this, the installer must add an additional sticker (part no.
30090-37100) in a visible place on the sunroof/lifting roof.

Electrical connection (optional)

For operation of S 3004 heating with a Piezo push ignitor
(S 3004 P) or auto ignitor (1.5 V), no 12 V voltage supply is
necessary.
12 V connection
If a Truma TEB-3 fan or a lamp is mounted for control panel,
a 12 V power supply is required (alternating current ripple
< 1.2 Vpp).
The heating must be connected to a secured on-board power
supply (5 A).
230 V ~, 50 Hz connection
A connection to the 230 AC power supply and an external
control panel are required to use a Truma TN-3 fan.
Safety instructions
Installation and repair of the unit may only be carried out by a
specialist.
Ensure that the power supply has been disconnected! Re-
move the plug!
The installation in the vehicle must comply with the techni-
cal and administrative provisions of the respective country in
which it is used (e.g. EN 1648, VDE 0100-721). National regu-
lations and guidelines must be observed.
