g) Use the power tool and its accessories
in accordance with these instructions,
taking into account the working
conditions and the task to be
performed. Using the power tool for
operations other than those intended
could result in a hazardous situation.
5 Using and looking after
battery-operated tools
a) Recharge only with the charger
specified by the manufacturer. A
recharging cable suitable for one
type of battery pack may be fire risk
if used with other battery packs.
b) Use power tools exclusively with
specifically designated battery
packs. Use of any other battery packs
may create a risk of injury and fire.
c) When the battery pack is not in
use, keep it away from other metal
objects such as paper clips, coins,
keys, nails, screws or other small
metal objects that may create a
connection between two terminal
clamps. Short circuiting the battery
terminals can cause burns or a fire.
d) Under abusive conditions, liquid
may be ejected from the battery:
avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, flush with water. If the liquid
contacts eyes, seek medical help
immediately. Fluid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation and burns.
6) Technical Assistance
a) Have your power tool serviced by
a qualified repair person using
only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of
the power tool is maintained.
2.2 SPECIFIC SAFETY REGULATIONS
FOR HEDGE TRIMMERS
• During work operations, always hold
the machine firmly with both hands.
Operating it with only one hand can cause
loss of control and serious personal injury
• Keep all parts of the body well away
from the cutting blade. Do not remove
cut material or hold material to be cut
while blades are moving. Make sure that
the switch is in the stop position when
removing cut material. Even a single
moment of inattention while using the hedge
trimmer can cause serious personal injury.
• Carry the hedge trimmer by gripping
the handle and with the blade stopped.
Always fit the cutting device guard
during transport or when the machine
is stored. Correct handling of the
hedge trimmer reduces the possibility of
personal injury caused by the blades.
• Hold the power tool by insulated
gripping surfaces only, because the
blade may come in contact with hidden
wiring. Contact between cutter blades
and a "live" wire may cause exposed metal
parts of the tool to become "live" and
give the operator an electrical shock.
2.3 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Protecting the environment must be a
significant and top priority for machine
use, to the benefit of civil co-habitation
and of the environment that we live in.
• Avoid being an element of disturbance to
the surrounding area. Use this machine
at reasonable times of the day only (not
early morning or late evening when the
noise could cause disturbance).
• Scrupulously comply with local regulations
for the disposal of packaging, deteriorated
parts or any elements with a strong
environmental impact; this waste must
not be disposed of with regular waste, but
must be separated and taken to collection
centres, which will recycle the materials.
• Scrupulously comply with local regulations

• When the machine is withdrawn from service,
do not dispose of it in the environment,
but take it to a waste disposal facility in
accordance with the local regulations in force.
Do not throw electrical equipment away
with domestic waste. According to the
European Directive 2012/19/EU on
electrical and electronic equipment
waste and its implementation in
compliance with national standards, old electrical
equipment must be collected separately, for eco-
compatible recycling. If electrical equipment is
disposed of in a landfill or in the ground, the
harmful substances can reach the water table
and enter the food chain, damaging your health
and well-being. For further information on the
disposal of this product, contact your dealer or a
domestic waste collection service.
At the end of their working life, dispose of
batteries paying due attention to the
environment. Batteries contain material
classified as hazardous for you and the
environment. They must be removed and
disposed of separately at a facility that accepts
lithium-ion batteries.
