Attach the breakaway cable so that cornering
is possible without problems.
The breakaway cable must not wind itself
around the support wheel.
When fitting the breakaway cable, comply
with country-specific regulations.
Jockey wheel
Make sure that the support wheel is seated
firmly.
Parking
If the trailer is uncoupled from the towing ve-
hicle, then the following must be done:
the parking brake must be engaged.
the trailer must be secured with two addi-
tional chocks.
the support wheel must be lowered and
locked.
When parking or laying up the vehicle/trai-
ler combination, engage the trailer's parking
brake.
CAUTION!
The trailer may roll back 25 to 30 cm un-
til the full force of the brake takes effect.
When laying up the trailer, ensure suffi-
cient clearance.
CAUTION!
When you apply the parking brake en-
sure that it functions correctly.
Incorrect function may be noticeable by the follo-
wing:
Noticeable loss of force
The handbrake lever does not move smoothly
The handbrake is difficult to move
Loose components

CAUTION!
Risk of accidents!
In an emergency, it must be ensured
that after the breakaway cable has been
used to engage the handbrake lever
(handbrake in the closed position), the
lever remains accessible. If the hand-
brake were to make contact with the
road surface, the functioning of the emer-
gency brake could no longer be assured.

The attachment to the vehicle with regard
to height-adjustable support equipment (sup-
port wheel) for imposed loads greater than
50 kg as well as the setting of the coupling
height must fulfil the requirements as per ECE
R55-01 appendix 7.
Comply with any bodywork guidelines that are
provided.
The breakaway cable must always be passed
cleanly through a breakaway cable guide (2).
OPERATION
Adjusting the overrun hitch
CAUTION!
Danger of crushing!

Pull out the spring cotter pin(3-1) .
Release the locking toggle (3-2) and tighten

to the end stop.

On the handle of the overrun hitch, adjust the
hitch component upwards or downwards to
the end stop (4).

Tighten the locking toggle and secure it with
a hammer blow (hard rubber hammer).

After about 50 km, retighten the locking
toggle.

Secure by means of spring cotter pin(3-1) .
ADVICE
If the drawbar is not used for a long time,
the side parts can be released by jerking
upwards and sideways.
Engaging the handbrake
CAUTION!
Risk of injury from the handbrake le-
ver springing upwards! Actuate the le-
ver only after the brake rigging has been
connected.
An uncontrolled release of the handbrake le-
ver while the brake system is not connected
(brake rigging, Bowden cables, brake) may
damage the handbrake lever system.
1. Connect the brake rigging, remove the cable
ties.
2. Always pull the handbrake firmly past the
dead centre point (5-1).
Releasing the handbrake

Return the handbrake lever to its initial posi-
tion The dead centre point can clearly be felt.
