D9 e)
For setting a reference value for measuring relative to a reference val-
ue (REL), press the "RANGE" button before you enter the set mode to
select the range (not possible afterwards). Then press the "SET" but-
ton once, and then the "REL" button. The delta symbol above the
large display will now flash, and beneath it the left digit of the 4
its for setting a reference value. When you have entered a number, the
next digit flashes etc.
When the reference value is set, press the "ENTER" button for confir-
mation and automatically return to the normal mode.
The second function of the "SET" button is the number "6".
D10 "REL" button for measuring relative to reference values
You can carry out this measurement in two ways:
with a reference value as described under D9e or without this standard.
D10 a) First, measuring a reference value without a pre-set value:
When measuring a component, press the "REL" button. This will set
the digital display to ".0000" when a component is connected. Dis-
connect the component, the difference will be displayed.
For example the value for an Elko is 1.13 µF. You press the "REL" but-
ton, the display switches to "0000". Now disconnect the Elko. Then the
value "– 01.13 µF" will be displayed.
D10 b) Now the same measurement with the pre-set value:
Press the "REL" button and then the "SET" button. The pre-set refer-
ence value (e.g. - 01,13µF) will be displayed. Connect the Elko to the
terminals with the correct polarity. "00.00" will then be displayed.
The second function of the "REL" button is the number "7".
D11 "Hi / Lo LIMITS" button
When you press this button while measuring a resistor (R), a capacitor (C) or
an inductor (L), the reference values will be activated automatically. You may
have set these reference values under D9c.
If the value goes over the upper limit (Hi), there will be an acoustic signal (6 x
beep) and the arrow symbol "^" will flash.
If the value falls below the lower limit (Lo), there will be a long sound (beeep)
and the arrow symbol "
" will flash.
