D6 "Q/D/R" button
With this button you can establish the quality "Q" of your inductor, the recip-
rocal value of Q "D" of your capacitor, and the dissipation "R" of L or C (dis-
played as the omega character). When measuring resistors, this button is not
active. The display symbols "Q", "D" and "Ω" are arranged around the small-
er 4 / digit subdisplay. The last setting will be maintained even if the instru-

ment is switched off.
The second function of the button is the number "3".
Attention: When measuring inductors, the measurement device displays a
resistance value which refers to the inductor's total resistance value R. This
means: DC resistance plus loss resistance.
To determine the loss resistance, the DC resistance, as measured by a multi-
meter (with direct current), has to be subtracted from the R-value displayed.
D7" > 2sec HOLD" button
With this button you can switch on or off the background lighting, but you can
also activate the hold function. Hold means to freeze a measured value. This
function is useful for changing values. The measurement will be frozen when
you press the button, the last value and the symbol "H" will be displayed to
the right of "AUTO".
At that moment no further measurement is possible until you press the button
again and allow measuring.
The symbol "H" will then disappear.
When you keep the button pressed for about 2 sec., the background lighting
is activated. The display is sufficiently lighted by four low-current LEDs so that
you can read the measured value. The light will be switched off after about 1
minute, unless you press the button once more for about 2 sec.
The second function of this button is the number "4".
D8 "MIN MAX" button
With this function you can save the maximum values ("MAX") and the mini-
mum values measured ("MIN"). Moreover, the automatic power-off function is
deactivated. Keep the button "MIN MAX" pressed when switching on the
measuring instrument. This blocks all the other buttons except the "HOLD"
and "MIN MAX" buttons. Press the button once, the symbol "R" appears in
the headline of the display. The recording of the measured values has been
initiated. After six measurements there will be an acoustic signal (beep). After
every new MIN or MAX value, there will be a new signal (beep – beep).
If you want to read the recorded MIN, MAX values, and the difference from
MAX minus MIN, and the average value AVG, you must press the buttons "MIN
MAX" alternately. First, the "MAX" value (highest recorded value) is displayed,
when you press the button again, the "MIN" value (= lowest recorded value).
