Fault
The nebulisation time has
become noticeably longer.
Aerosol escapes continuously in
large volumes from the opening
slots in the medication reservoir.
During inhalation a small amount of
fluid escapes through the
mouthpiece.
During inhalation a small amount of
fluid is dropping down from the
expiratory valve.
The medication cap cannot be taken
off the medication reservoir after
inhalation treatment.
If the malfunction persists, contact your service partner.

Possible cause/Remedy
When the system is used regularly, the
time needed to complete the nebulisation
may slowly increase. This is not a
malfunction. However, if you notice that
the nebulisation time has become
significantly longer, this may be due to
one of the following reasons:
- The medication reservoir cap was not
closed correctly.
- The aerosol head was not cleaned
immediately after the last application, or
it is damaged.
- You are using the aerosol head for
longer or more often than is
recommended in section
Life cycle of the medical device.
• Check whether the nebuliser handset
has been assembled correctly.
When doing so, ensure that both valve
flaps of the inspiratory valve are seated
correctly. When the valve is inserted,
they must lie flat and face towards the
aerosol chamber.
A small amount of fluid collects in the
aerosol chamber during inhalation, and
when the nebuliser handset is tilted it can
escape through the mouthpiece.
• Hold the nebuliser handset horizontally.
Some drops of fluid collect at the expira-
tory valve of the mouthpiece during treat-
ment and may run down the mouthpiece.
• Have a cloth ready if necessary.
The negative pressure in the medication
reservoir is too great.
• Open the aerosol chamber and
carefully pull the aerosol head to enable
air to flow in.
The medication cap can now be
removed easily.
