7.12 MAINTENANCE OF THE VIBRATING ASSEMBLY

Check the oil level every 50 hours' operation of the plate. Place the equipment on a flat horizontal
en
surface. Unscrew the oil cap with its washer. If the oil level is below the thread add oil and screw
the oil cap back on.
Replace the oil every 300 hours' operation. Empty the oil out of the vibrating assembly by
unscrewing the oil cap; then tilt the plate and pour the oil into a container. Take the oil to a used oil
collection spot.

ATTENTION: The machine should be stopped or out of service.
If the machine had been working, the transmission unit will be hot. Check that the
machine has cooled down before carrying out this operation.
Loosen the screws on the belt cover and remove the belt cover.
Adjust the cams to the minimum tension position so that the belt can be removed easily.
Remove the belt and fit a new one. The belt specification for the Honda GX160 motor is
A (13×8) 885 and for the 1B20 motor is B (17× 11) 910.
Adjust the cams so that when pressed lightly in the centre, the belt will flex 10-15 mm

ATTENTION: Check that the 2 tension plates remain in the same position to
ensure that the machine is well-balanced.
Place the belt cover.
ATTENTION: The machine should be stopped or out of service.
Only empty out the oil when the machine is warm.
Danger of burns caused by hot oil!
Use current standard procedures for managing the residual oil.
Tilt the machine slightly to the opposite side from the one on which the oil is going to be
emptied out.
Remove the drainage plug for the vibrating oil (1).
Now tilt the machine to the other side and wait until all the oil has drained out.
Place the equipment on a flat horizontal surface. Add approximately 400 c.c. oil SEA
10W/40 until the oil drips through the thread of the drainage hole and screw the oil cap
back on again.
Replace the plug.
