The ultrasonic sensor can be used with headlights with headlight range adjustment
actuator 6NM 007 282-231. Use must be checked in individual cases!

Mounting position

The sensor must be mounted in
a suitable position under the
vehicle near one of the rear
wheels, depending on the vehicle

type.
The following points must be
noted when considering the
sensor position:
1.Take the space required for the
sensor signal into account.
2.The sensor must be mounted
at a height of at least 25 cm above
the ground.
3.The sensor must be aligned at
a right angle to the roadway.
4.Mount in a position that is not
likely to become extremely soiled
(e.g. not in the wheel arch behind
the wheel).
5.Do not mount the sensor in the
direct vicinity of exhaust parts
(heating effect)

Mounting steps

Determine the mounting position
on the floor panel, mark the
attachment points and drill with
a 3.5 mm bit (not in moving parts
or the tank). Seal the drilled metal
parts with rust inhibitor. Use sheet
metal screws 4.2 x 12 mm to
screw the retaining clamp in place.
Screw the sensor to the bracket
and retaining clamp. Align the
sensor at right angles to the
roadway and tighten the screws
well.
