4.4 DIFFERENTIAL LOCK

To lock the differential, move lever n.3 fig.1 forward even when the machine is
moving.
Stop the machine if more wheel is slipping more than the other.
To unlock the differential, pull the lever back to its original position.
Differential locking is very useful on wet ground when one of the two wheels is
slipping. This gives the machine better traction.
Do not use the differential lock going into or in curves. If the
differential does not unlock, help it by steering the machine
slightly to the left and then the right.

4.5 STEERING HANDLEBARS

Lever n.11 fig.1 is used to set the handlebars in 9 different vertical positions.
Lever n.10 fig.1 is used to set the handlebars in 5 horizontal positions with the
machine in cultivating driving direction.
Before preparing the machine with the handlebars turned for mowing, detach the
control levers n.1-2-3 fig. from their sleeves n.4-5-6. Also put the speed range
selection lever (n.5 fig.1) on "V" V (fig.3), Fast.
Lever n.10 fig.1 is used to set the handlebars in 3 horizontal reversed positions.
N.B. Turn the handlebars clockwise to prevent damage to the cables
running along the post.
When the handlebars are turned 180°, the control levers have the following
functions (see fig.4):
• Lever n.1 Slow - Fast - Reverse range lever
• Lever n.2 gear select lever
• Lever.3 bottom PTO control lever
When the handlebars are rotated from mowing to normal position
(cultivating direction), check to make sure that the pin to prevent PTO
engage in reverse is working properly-ie, it prevents reverse being engaged
when the PTO is engaged and vice-versa.
