Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device
■
Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
■
Only iron on a stable, fl at, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant surface. We
recommend that you use a standard ironing board.
■
Do not iron on surfaces made from glass or plastic.
■
Always work with suffi cient lighting.
■
Never exceed the maximum fi ll level (note max marking on the water reservoir!).
Use tap water to fi ll the device. Distilled water may have an adverse effect on the
integrated limescale fi lter.
■
Never pour any descaling or cleaning agent or other chemical additives into the
device. This may destroy the device and safe working is no longer guaranteed.
■
Open the water reservoir cap only to fi ll the water reservoir. Otherwise keep the cap
closed while operating the iron.
■
Never cover up the steam nozzles and do not stick any objects into them.
■
Operate the steam switches only when the water reservoir is fi lled with water as
otherwise the water pump may be damaged and the useful service life of the device
may be shortened.
■
Maintain a suffi cient distance from heat sources such as hobs or ovens in order not
to damage the device. Do not place any naked fl ames, e.g. burning candles, in the
immediate vicinity of the device, adapter, cable or plug.
■
Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently.
■
Do not place any heavy objects on the device, the adapter, the cable or the plug.
■
Do not pull or carry the device by the cable.
■
Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, wide temperature variations,
moisture, wet conditions or direct sunlight.
■
Always test the device fi rst on a small, inconspicuous spot on the clothing.
■
During and shortly after use, place the device on the adapter which is supplied
or upright on its base and on a fl at, stable, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant
surface to prevent damage to the surface which could be caused by the hot bottom
section of the iron.
■
Do not use any caustic or abrasive agents to clean the device. These may damage
the surface. Do not use any metal objects to remove dirt from the bottom of the iron.
■
Store the device away only once it has completely cooled down and there is no more
water in the water reservoir.
