CookSmart™

CookSmart™ is suitable for foods that are heated in
liquid or large amounts of fat or oil. When you extend the
sensor, you can cook using CookSmart™ on the heating
element that is located right next to the sensor.
NOTICE: CookSmart™ is not suitable for frying.
Always cook with the lid on.
How CookSmart™ works
Every pot whose contents are hot gives off heat. The
SensorDome™ reads this heat, so that the cooktop can
automatically control the temperature.
The advantages for you
The heating element only applies heat when it is
needed. This saves energy.
Fats and oils are not overheated.
Pots cannot boil over. You don't have to continually
adjust the heat.
Suitable pots for CookSmart™
Pots to be used with the CookSmart™ feature must have
a surface that radiates heat especially well to the sensor.
You can use enamelware pots. The base of the pot
must be large enough to completely cover the heating
element.
Stainless steel and aluminum pots can also be used
when fitted with the sensor bands that are included
with your appliance. To use them, attach the sensor
band to the pot by means of the adhesive backing.
Note: Make sure that the sensor band is always facing
the sensor. If the band is not facing the sensor, the
controller will not work properly and foods can boil over.
You can also purchase the sensor band from your
electrical appliance dealer: SENSORSTRP
Quantity
1 - 2 servings
It is designed to conserve the food's nutritional value while using
little water for cooking. Add only about 2 cups of water to the
food for the large elements and about ¾ - 1 cup of water for the
small elements.
Cook rice in double the quantity of liquid.
The Fast Preheat feature is not suited for foods that are cooked in
a large quantity of water (e.g pasta).
Use a tall pot.
Rinse the pan with cold water before filling it.
Preheat the frying pan and oil before adding food. Do not turn the
food too soon. Food will separate from the bottom of the pan after
cooking a short time.
System pots for CookSmart™
You can also purchase system pots that are suitable for
use with CookSmart™ from your electrical appliance
dealer:

NOTICE: The control system will not operate properly if
unsuitable pots are used. Foods can boil over or burn.
Compensation for elevation above sea level
The point at which water begins to boil in your kitchen
will depend on your elevation above sea level. If your
dish is boiling too fast or too slowly, you can adjust the
boiling point within the 195-215 °F (90-100° C)
temperature range:
