Paramount supplies special "down jet" eyeballs that adapt to many of the common wall return sockets. The installation of these down jets is
essential for the operation of the System. Down jets are generally positioned as indicated below or as indicated on the system design detail sheet.
The purpose of the down jets above the fixed directors are to influence debris that could
rest behind the fixed directors towards the main drain. The additional two (2) down jets
influence debris into the circular flow and debris removal pattern.
It is most beneficial that you show the pool owner each step of
the start-up of the System. It is possible that swimmers could
alter the system's positioning of the fixed directors, down jets,
and gate valves. Providing the pool owner with the nozzle tool
may prevent a future warranty call or complaint.
There are two (2) types of Paramount floor nozzles - non-rotating
fixed directors and rotating cleaning nozzles. All nozzles include
extra jets.
Fixed directors do not come pre-assembled from the factory. In
most cases a 1/4" jet is used. Occasionally a 3/8" or 1/8" jet is
required because of-the distance of nozzle location from the active
drain (more than 6-1/2 feet). Refer to pool plan for proper sizing.
The rotating PCC2000 floor nozzle comes from the factory with
the opening in the nozzle shaft to the 3/4 inch side and 180
degrees to the opposite side is the 1/2 inch jet which is already
installed but not open. To change to 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2 inch jet you
must hold the nozzle upside down and remove the shaft by turning
it counter clockwise(Fig 1) to the stop and wiggle and pull it out
of the cap(Fig 2). The cap (Fig 3) will come out of the body by
pushing it up and down till pins come out. Then put in the cap the
jet of your choce (Fig 5) and then rotate the shaft 180 degrees
and reinsert the shaft so the jet size you want is open. Always
push the shaft up and down to make sure of smooth ratcheting
and the correct jet opening.
NOTE: All PCC2000 systems operate at 50 to 55 gallons per
circuit not counting the 2 fixed nozzles. Any combination of Floor
nozzles of 3/4 inch = 50 gpm, 1/2 inch = 25 gpm, 3/8 inch = 12
