The suction fan 1 sucks up the dust raised by the brushes.
Petrol version:
The suction fan 1 is driven by the engine 2.
Electric version:
The fan 1 is activated by the switch 1b on position "A", see "controls - fi g.1".
!
Caution! "electric version"
Shut off the suction system by pressing the switch 1b fi g.1 to position "C" when working on wet
fl oors.
When driving the motor-sweeper from one place to another without, proceed as follows:
Stop the turning of the brushes (see "controls", fi g.1 - point 5).
Lift the brushes (see "controls" - fi g.1 - point 2- 6).
Stop the suction system (see "controls" - fi g.1 - point 1b).
The dust fl aps prevent the dust raised by the brushes
from blowing out from under the motor-sweeper.
They must therefore be kept in peak condition and
replaced if they become worn or damaged.

Replacing the fl aps

Remove the fi xing bolts and remove the
worn or damaged fl ap.
It a new fl ap 1-2-3-4 and secure it in po-
sition with the same bolts. The side and
rear fl aps should ride at about 1-2 mm
above fl oor level.
The cartridge fi lters 2 remove the dust from the air sucked through the motor sweeper. The fi lters must be
kept permanently effi cient.
!
Caution!
If dust starts blowing out form the sweeper, the fi lters are dirty and must be cleaned.

Cleaning the fi lters

Whenever the sweeper raises dust during sweeping, the fi lters must be cleaned. The cleaning procedure is
as follows:
Using the automatic shaker 1, by means of the knob 1A (petrol version) or switch 1B (electric ver-
sion) on pos. V (fi g.1) on pos. V for about 10 seconds.
!
Caution!
Do not use the fi lter shaker for a long time as this may cause damage to the electrical system.
About once a month, to keep the machine cleaner and ensure better service, remove the
fi lters and clean them thoroughly with an air jet or preferably with a vacuum cleaner, star-
ting from the inside where more dust accumulates. When replacing the fi lters, take care
that the rubber seal is in place in the lower part.
