Changing the Engine Oil
Change the engine oil with the
petrol tank empty and the engine
warm.
• Change the engine oil for the
fi rst time after around 5 operat-
ing hours then every 50 operat-
ing hours or annually.
• Dispose of the used oil in an
ecofriendly manner (see "Dis-
posal/Environmental protection").
1. Remove the spark plug connector
(
10) (see "Maintaining the Spark
Plug").
2. Open the oil tank cover (
pump out the motor oil with an oil pump.
3. Refi ll with engine oil (see "Initial Op-
eration").
Checking/Sharpening/Replac-
ing the Blade
Incorrect installation can result
in serious injury.
Wear gloves when handling the
blade.

Take off the spark plug connector (
10) and check the blade for wear and
damage.
•
Always have a blunt blade resharpened
by a specialist company, as an imbal-
ance check can be carried out there.
•
Always have a specialist workshop
change a damaged or imbalanced
blade.

Adjusting the Carburettor
The carburettor has been preset in the
factory for optimum performance. If read-
justments are required, have the adjust-
ments made by a specialist workshop.
Maintenance Intervals
Regularly carry out the maintenance work
listed in the "maintenance intervals" table.
Regular maintenance prolongs the life of
the equipment. It also gives optimum cut-
ting performance and avoids accidents.
1. Remove the spark plugs con-
nector (
10) (see "Maintaining
the Spark Plug").
2. Turn the equipment over.
3. Use sturdy gloves and hold
the blade fi rmly (34). Turn the
blade screw (35) anticlockwise
off of the motor spindle (36) us-
ing a screwdriver (AF 17 mm).
4. To fi t the new blade, insert the
drive pin (37) in the slot pro-
vided in the motor shaft (36).
Insert the washer (38) in the
fl ange (39) and fi t this onto the
shaft (36).
5. Fit the blade (34) onto the fl an-
ge (39).
6. Fit the conical spring washer
(40) onto the blade (34). Screw
the blade bolt (35) into the shaft
(36). (Recommended tightening
torque 45 Nm).
Once you have loosened the blade
bolt (35), the conical spring washer
(40) must be replaced.
