Reading the power and yield data

Web browser

You can use a web browser to view the power and yield data of your photo-
voltaic system. The following instructions relate to the use of Microsoft Internet
Explorer®.
1 1
Open Microsoft Internet Explorer®.
2 2
Enter the IP address of the StecaGrid Connect into the address bar.
(e.g. http://19.168.145.7).
The homepage of the inverter appears.
3 3
Enter your user name.
4 4
Enter the password.
The default password is the MAC address on the label of the
StecaGrid Connect.
5 5
Click OK to establish a connection.

Data communication over the Internet

When the inverters are connected to a fixed Internet connection via the StecaGrid
Connect, then the data can be viewed from any location with an internet access.
This can be done using a web browser or the StecaGrid Connect software.
Depending on the type of Internet access used by the StecaGrid Connect cards to
provide your data, extra configuration may be necessary.
For example, a router may need to be configured as a "virtual server" for external
access. In this mode, it receives the queries from remote users via its public IP ad-
dress and then forwards these automatically to the local computer, or the Connect
cards of the inverters in this case. An external Internet service provider is often
used for providing the dynamic IP address assignment (DynDNS) (usually free).
The appropriate procedure is described in the operator's manual of your router.

Dedicated software

You can also use the associated software to view the power and yield data of your
photovoltaic system. The following software versions are available:
• StecaGrid Connect User for PV system operators.
• StecaGrid Connect Service for installers.

Check the mains power connection of the inverter. Ensure that
munication
the inverter is connected to the mains power. Without a mains
possible
power connection the inverter cannot communicate with the
PC or the network.
Check the UTP cable between the StecaGrid Connect and the
LAN or PC. You must use a crossover cable if the PC is directly
connected to the StecaGrid Connect. If the StecaGrid Connect
is connected to a LAN, then you must use a 1-to-1 UTP cable.
Check the LAN SETTINGS of the StecaGrid Connect. The IP ad-
dress must be unique and compatible with the subnet mask.
The subnet mask must be compatible with the network to
which the StecaGrid Connect is connected.
Check the PORT SETTINGS of the StecaGrid Connect. The port
settings must agree with the settings of the LAN router.
