Cleaning and storage

ATTENTION!
❐ Burn hazard associated with hot device parts! Let the device cool off each time
before you clean it.
❐ Danger of electrocution! Always disconnect the mains plug from the socket and
pull the thermostat plug out of the device before cleaning. Never immerse the device,
the cable, thermostat plug and mains plug in water or other liquids. Never place the
device in the dishwasher.
❐ The device and the grease collection tray are not suitable for being cleaned in the
dishwasher.
❐ The grill plate cannot be removed! Do not attempt to remove the grill plate to clean it.
❐ Do not use any abrasive or scouring cleaners for cleaning. They could damage the
surface. Do not use any metallic objects.
1. Ensure that the device has completely COOLED DOWN and is deactivated!
2. Empty the fat collection tray and clean it with hot water and a mild detergent. Then
dry the fat collection tray thoroughly.
3. Clean the thermostat plug, the cable and the mains plug with a damp cloth as needed
and then dry all parts thoroughly. The thermostat plug, the cable and the plug may
never be immersed in water or other liquids.
4. Clean the device and the grill plate with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Then dry
all parts thoroughly.
5. Stow the device so that it is out of the reach of children and animals. Store it in a dry
area not exposed to direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

If the device is not working properly, please check whether you are able to rectify the
problem yourself fi rst. Otherwise contact customer service. Do not attempt to repair a
defective device yourself!

Potential cause / solution
• Is the mains plug properly connected with the socket?
• Is the socket defective? Try another socket.
• Check the fuse for your mains connection.
• Is the thermostat plug properly connected to the device? The
thermostat plug must be inserted in the device so that it is fl ush.
• Have you set a cooking temperature?
• Smoke and odour(s) may be emitted the fi rst time you use the
device. This is normal as the device may still carry production
residues. Please consult the notes in the chapter "Before fi rst
use" for more information.
