❐ At regular intervals, check the grease collection tray and empty it in time to prevent
it from overfl owing.
❐ Do not place food packed in cling fi lm or plastic bags on the device.
1. Place the device on a dry, heat-resistant, stable, level surface at a suffi cient distance
to fl ammable objects, spraying water and heat sources. Please ensure that the de-
vice is not accessible for children or animals.
2. If this has not already been done, insert the grease collection tray in the device.
3. Insert the thermostat plug in the jack on the device. Make sure that the thermostat
plug is properly connected. It must be fl ush with the connector jack.
4. Make sure that the temperature control is set to the 0 position. Connect the mains
plug to a properly installed socket, which corresponds to the device's technical data
(see chapter "Technical data").
5. Set the temperature control on the thermostat plug to the desired temperature. The
power light will illuminate as soon as the device has been connected to a socket. The
power light will go out once the device has reached the operating temperature.
Note: The power light turns on when in use and turns off at regular intervals.
If the power light illuminates, the device will heat up and the heating process
is interrupted when the power light turns off. This process ensures that the
set temperature is kept constant.
6. Now place the food you would like to barbecue on the grill plate. Turn it from time to
time and take it off the grill once it has been properly cooked.
7. After use, set the temperature control to 0.
8. First pull the mains plug out of the socket and then the thermostat plug out of the device.
9. Let the device cool off completely before you clean it as described in the chapter
"Cleaning and storage".
Tips and notes
•
Please understand that it is not possible to provide information on cooking times and
temperatures. Cooking times and temperatures depend on the size, type and quality
of the food. As a rough guideline, we recommend that you cook meat at higher tem-
peratures and vegetables at lower temperatures.
•
We recommend preheating the device at the highest setting and then turning it down.
•
If you feel that food is "sticking" to the grill plate, add a drop of oil to the grill plate and
distribute it with a pastry brush.
•
The profi led side of the grill plate is ideal for all kinds of meat.
•
The smooth side of the grill plate is ideal for fi sh, eggs and vegetables.
