9. options
Some of the available equipment variations (options) are legal-
ly required.
9.1 limit switch and Emergency limit switch
Do not operate the electric rope winch until the limit switchs are
connected an adjusted. The limit switch counts the rotations of
the drum. It contains two switching elements (wide cam) limiting
the upper and lower end position, and two more switching
elements for upper and lower emergency end position (narrow
cam). An end stop is required according to DIN 56950-1.
Adjust the end stop in such a way, that:
> 3
GB
– Hooks, load carrying equipment, and load may not knock
against the rope winch or its supporting structure.
The accuracy of the end stop decreases with increasing
length of the reeled rope.
By elongation of the rope through its lifetime the position of
the end stop may change. Therefor regular examination of the
adjusted stop points is necessary.
Adjusting:
z Remove protective cover.
z Drive to the "lower" end position (rope unreeled). Adjust a
tappet with adjusting screw until the switch responds.
Adjusting screws
z Reel rope briefly, stop, unreel again and check "lower" end
position.
z Reel rope and drive to "upper" end position. Adjust the other
tappet with adjusting screw until the switch responds.
z Unreel rope briefly, stop, reel again and check "upper" end
position.
z Drive to the "lower" and "upper" end position again and cor-
rect until end positions are reached satisfactorily.
z Assemble protective cover again.
Use the same method to adjust the slightly offset emergency
limit switches. In operating range first the limit switch and then
the emergency limit switch has to apply.
The limit switch is correctly connected and approximately pre-
set, if the control unit is supplied by factory. Otherwise it is the
responsibility of the manufacturer to correctly connect the four
switching elements to the control unit.

9.2 pressure Roll
Before commissioning, adjust the position of the pressure roll
to the required rope direction.
9.3 slack Rope switch
Interrupts the drive, as soon as the rope looses its tension,
e.g. if the load jams when "lowering" or reaches the ground.
Prevents the rope coils jumping off the drum. Prevents during
renewed lifting cross layering of the rope. (rope damage).
not available for divided drums!
With known rope direction, the slack rope switch is pre-adju-
sted by haacon.
z Adjust the switch before commissioning according to the
local conditions and check its function. For this purpose,
loosen screws and rotate the arm appropriately, mark the
position and rotate the arm another 25° to the rope. Then
tighten screws again. Loosen the headless screws and
adjust the cam segment for the switch to be pressed without
tension of the rope. Then tighten headless screws again.
If a control unit has been supplied by haacon, the slack rope
switch has already been connected according to the circuit
diagram. Otherwise it is the responsibility of the manufacturer
to correctly connect the switch to the control unit.
9.4 Emergency lowering device
The motor brake starts automatically, if the power supply is
interrupted. The load
Lowering of loads:
z screw in brake levers, vent the brakes.
Lifting of loads:
z Attach crank to motor, turn crank clockwise, vent the
brakes.
Emergency lowering operation only when discon-
nected from power supply.
Exceptional situation! Therfore special attention is
necessary. –>Safety instructions in Chapter 2.
Only assign instructed personnel.
Do not stay under suspended loads or in the danger
area. Secure danger zone.
LOWERING - NOTE!
The load starts moving independently after venting
the brakes. The load is braked again by releasing
the brake lever. Do not exceed suitable lowering
speed.
only lower load step by step!
If necessary use the provided crank for lowering.
LIFTING - NOTE!
Danger of injury by the attached crank. if this is not
sufficiently secured before venting the brake.
First hold brake then vent brake!
First release the brake lever, then the crank
carefully!
Applies rope coils to the drum.
The slack rope switch is made of
a spring mounted roller arm
the rope looses its tension, then
the limit switch
is triggered by a
cam segment. The motor stops.
