2.4 intended use
Only use as intended for safe operation.
The operator is responsible for damage to persons and
property, which result from non-intended use.
the manufacturer's liability and warranty becomes
void in the case of arbitrary changes.
– Only suitable to raise, hold and lower freely movable un-
guided loads at event and production facilities for scenic
presentations.
– For guided loads use a slack wire switch.
– Only instructed qualified personnel may install, operate,
repair and check the device.
– Use only at +5/+40°C with max. air humidity <50%.
The following is not permitted:
– Exceeding the permissible load (see type plate/ technical
data).
– Transport of passengers for commercial purposes
– Pulling away jammed or blocked loads, dragging of loads
and pulling diagonally.
– Falling of load into the wire, swinging of load
– Transport of burning liquid material.
– Working with defective winches, rope or load carrying equip-
ment.
– Continuous operation (see technical data, motor group)
– Extensive tipping operation
– Use during constant vibration.
– Use in agressive environment
Operating range:
– The electric winch corresponds to DIN 56950-1 „Entertain-
ment technology –Machinery installations –Part 1: Safety
requirements and inspections" as well as DGUV-V17 a ger-
man Accident Prevention Regulation. If delivered as incom-
plete machine the manufacturer of the complete installation
is responsible to add the missing pieces according to the
regulations.
The electric winch may be used to transport persons on stage,
if the national regulations (e.g. in Germany DGUV-I 215-320)
are respected, among others:
– person hoisting devices (DGUV-R 101-005)
– use of personal protective equipment against falls from a
heigth (DGUV-R 112-198)
– use of personal protective equipment for arresting and
rescuing (DGUV-R 112-199)
– Use of emergency lowering device ist necessary
– prior to comissioning check by a surveyor
– prior to every use let an expert check by sight and load test
– for load tests use 1,25 times the load under static and dyna-
mic conditions. When testing with personnel do not exeed
0,5m heigth of drop.
– Test results must be documented
The equipment is not certified for
– Building elevators (DGUV-R 100-500-2.30).
– Use in explosive environment (ATEX).
– Simultaneous drive (control cabinet only)

3. sAFEtY instRuCtions
3.1 General safety instructions
Observe any rules and safety regulations which a valid in the
respective country i.e. for germany among others:
– DGUV-V 17 „UVV Bühnen und Studios"
– DGUV-I 215-313 „Lasten über Personen"
Usage of the electric winch can endanger the user or third
parties and/or damage the device and other material assets in
the case of:
– Not instructed (trained) personnel.
– Non-intended use.
– Inappropriate service/maintenance.
Certain residual risks are given even if all safety instructions
have been observed. Whoever works with or in the vicinity of
the device, must be familiar with these dangers and obey in-
structions, which prevent that residual risks result in accidents
or damages.
The residual risks are marked by symbols (explanation in Chap-
ter 2.1).
