Starting the universal machine
•
Before using the machine, make sure the blade or
its connecting elements are not damaged. Replace
any damaged blade if necessary.
•
Before inspecting the machine, switch the engine
off and unplug the machine. To prevent
unintentional starting of the universal machine, the
2-point safety switch has been fitted with a safety
button that must be pressed before the starting
lever is pulled (pic. 19).
•
When releasing the starting lever, the button must
be put to the original position.
•
Make sure the extension cable is not within steel
spring reach. Press the safety switch and pull the
starting lever (pic. 19).
•
Before starting your work, you must repeat this
step several times to make sure everything works
properly.
WARNING!!! You must necessarily wait until
the steel springs stop rotating and are idle in case
of any adjustment, servicing or repairs of your
universal machine. The universal machine must
necessarily be unplugged before these works.
Servicing and treatment
Pull the plug out of socket before every maintenance
and treatment! Maintain the appliance at regular intervals
(depending on the use frequency). Maintenance needs to be
strictly recorded.
•
Make sure all fastening elements (screws, nuts,
etc.) are always tightened to ensure safe work with
the verticutter.
•
Check the collection container more frequently for
signs of wear.
•
Check the appliance regularly and replace any
worn-out or damaged parts.
Use a damp cloth to clean the plastic parts. Do not use
cleaning agents, solvents and pointed items.
Remove any dust and dirt from the machine after using it.
Empty the dirt container.
Beside this, no servicing is needed to be performed on the
machine.
Cleaning
Keep the guards, ventilation slots and engine case with no
dust and dirt if possible. Wipe the appliance with a clean
cloth or blow it with compressed air under low pressure.
Cleaning the appliance immediately after each use is
recommended. Clean the appliance regularly with a wet cloth
and a bit of liquid soap. Do not use cleaning agents and
solvents as they could damage plastic parts of the appliance.
Make sure no water gets inside the appliance.
Adjusting the cutting mechanism (pic. 17)
The cutting mechanism of your universal machine has been
adjusted to optimum before leaving the factory. If the mower
is not cutting smoothly after it has been used for a long time,
please fix the bottom blade adjustment.
Test cutting
Put a slip of paper on the bottom knife so as it points to the
knife roller axis. Turn carefully the knife roller. If the bottom
knife is adjusted properly, the paper will be cut off as if
scissors are used. Repeat the test cutting for various knives.
Right cutting
To have a well-kept lawn, we recommend cutting grass at
regular weekly intervals if possible. Grass thickens by
frequent cutting. If the grass has not been cut for a long time,
cutting should first take place in one direction with the
highest cutting height and then across with the required
cutting height. The maximum length of blades is 12 cm to be
able to be cut by the reel mower. Cut only dry grass if
possible as wet grass does not provide fine cutting.
