6.1.1 Cleaning
Wipe the surface of the pressure regulator with a dry disposable cloth or with a disposable
cloth that has been moistened with clean water.

Cleaning agents containing alcohol or emollients may ignite if they come into
contact with compressed oxygen or nitrous oxide.
6.1.2 Disinfection
Only use approved surface disinfectants. Observe the manufacturer's instructions for use.
Disinfectants that are based on the following materials are compatible:
aldehydes
quaternary ammonium compounds.
Disinfectants based on the following materials are not suitable as they may
damage the materials:
halogen-splitting compounds
strongly organic acids
oxygen-splitting compounds
Users in the Federal Republic of Germany are recommended to always use disinfectants
that are included in the latest DGHM register (DGHM: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Hygiene
und Mikrobiologie, mhp-Verlag GmbH Wiesbaden). The DGHM register also lists the active
agents on which each disinfectant is based.
The recommendation based on the active agents listed above applies in those countries
that are unaware of the DHGM list.
6.2

Performance test

A visual inspection must be performed at least every 6 months in brightly lit, glare-free
conditions to check for mechanical damages. The following must be inspected:
Inlet connection
Housing
Pressure gauge
Handwheel
Outlet connection
Legibility of type plate and gas type plate
Alignment of connections and gauge to the appliance axes
Secure fit of the connections and gauge
The handwheel on adjustable appliances must turn easily.
