The pressure regulator may only be used for its intended purpose as described in these
instructions for use (see Section "Intended purpose").
These instructions for use are integral to the appliance and must be available to the
user at all times.
You must understand how the appliance works before commencing operation with it.
Never use an appliance if it is leaking or faulty!
Medical gases are a medicinal product and may only be administered under the
supervision of qualified medical staff who are familiar with the precautions that need
to be observed for the respective treatment.
Before commissioning the appliance, make absolutely sure that the gas type, the
gas volume flow range and the connection are correct and that any upstream or
downstream equipment has been fitted securely.
Not suitable for operation in the range of strong magnetic fields, e.g. those generated
by magnetic resonance imaging.
Only accessories bearing the CE mark that are compatible with the appliance both in
terms of intended use and connection may be used (see Section "Combination with
downstream equipment").
Never try to open the pressure regulator since this could result in the release of spring-
loaded parts which might cause injury.
To avoid the risk of infection or bacterial contamination, please read and observe the
information in the Section "Maintenance and care".
The pressure regulator must not be immersed in liquids or sterilised.
Foreign matter must not get inside the appliance. This applies to dust and disinfectants
in particular. Use the supplied protective caps / plugs.
You MUST wash your hands before working on the oxygen supply.
Ensure that the pressure regulator cannot come into contact with oil or grease during
operation or storage. Oil and grease, as found for example in hand creams, can
react violently with pressurised gases (especially oxygen and nitrous oxide). Risk of
explosion!
Do not use any lubricants.
Smoking and naked flames are strictly forbidden in the vicinity of valves and fittings
carrying oxygen.
The connections on the appliance must match those on the gas supply or downstream
equipment. Adapters must not be used.
Only suitable for stationary operation in hospitals and clinics.
Do not perform any technical or design modifications.
Comply with the storage and operation conditions.
Do not use the appliance for direct supply to the patient.
Do not switch several appliances in sequence.
• Do not apply any external loads, support connected appliances.
• Do not hang objects on it.
• Protect against impacts, jolts, falls and vibrations.
