7. Operation

a) Removing battery from/inserting battery into the cordless drill driver
• To remove the battery from the cordless drill driver, press and hold the release button (9) and pull the battery out
to the front.
• To insert the battery, make sure that it is facing the right way and then insert it into the battery holder on the cordless
drill driver until it snaps into place.
b) Inserting tool into/removing tool from the keyless chuck
• Set the rotation direction switch (4) to the central position to block the
on/off switch (10).
• Open the keyless chuck by turning it anti-clockwise (A) as seen from
the front.
• Insert the required tool into the drill chuck. The diameter must be a
minimum of 2 mm, with a maximum of 13 mm possible.
• Tighten the keyless chuck by turning it clockwise (B) as seen from
the front.
• To ensure that the tool (e.g. drill bit) is secured in the keyless chuck,
it should be inserted at least 1 cm (e.g. small drill bits). Drill bits with
a larger diameter should be inserted as far as possible in the keyless
chuck to ensure that they can be secured.
c) Rotation direction switch (with safety catch)
Using the rotation direction switch (4), you can switch between a left or
right direction of rotation.
An arrow icon on the rotation direction switch (to the left (A) and right
sides of the cordless drill driver, not shown in the figure) shows the di-
rection of rotation, i.e. the direction that determines whether a screw is
"screwed out" or "screwed in".
The correct direction of rotation should be selected according
to the kind of work, depending on whether holes are drilled or
a screw is screwed in or out.
In the central position, the rotation direction switch blocks the on/off
switch and consequently the motor in the cordless drill driver.
For safety reasons, the on/off switch (10) must be blocked with the rotation direction switch (4) during tool
changes, maintenance or cleaning as well as during transport or storage. Inadvertently pressing the on/off
switch (10) may result in injury!
Only switch the direction of rotation when the drive of the cordless drill driver has come to a complete
standstill! The drive might otherwise be damaged.
