8. Troubleshooting
In purchasing the cordless drill driver, you have acquired a product which has been designed to the state of the art
and is operationally reliable. Even then, problems and malfunctions can occur. For this reason, the following section
provides an explanation on how to rectify possible malfunctions.
Always observe the safety information and all other instructions in this manual.
Problem
No function.
The on/off switch cannot be
pressed.
There is no apparent drilling
progress; the drill bit does not
penetrate the workpiece.
The cordless drill driver rattles
when unscrewing or screwing in
a screw.
The drill chuck turns too slowly or
too quickly.
The drill chuck rotates, but the drill
bit (or a screw bit) does not (the
tool slips through).
Solution
• Check the battery condition and recharge the battery.
• Check that the battery is properly inserted and locked in place.
• The overload or overtemperature protection may have been triggered.
Turn off the cordless drill driver and wait for the unit to cool down before
using it again.
• In the central position of the rotation direction switch, the on/off switch
is blocked for safety reasons (safety catch). Press the rotation direction
switch until it is no longer in the central position.
• Check the rotation direction of the drill and move the rotation direction
switch to the correct position if necessary.
• Use a new, sharp drill bit.
• Use a drill bit that is suitable for the material in which you want to drill a
hole (wood or metal drill bit).
• Choose the correct speed for the drill, depending on the material in
which you want to drill a hole.
• Choose the correct speed for the drill, depending on the material in
which you want to drill a hole.
• Adjust the torque-setting ring to provide a higher torque for screwing in
screws (higher setting).
• When drilling holes, the position with the drill symbol must be selected
on the torque-setting ring; the same applies when unscrewing screws.
• Check the setting of the two-speed gearbox slide switch and select a
different gear (release the on/off switch first and wait until the drive has
come to a complete standstill).
• Check whether the drill chuck is tight.
• The clamping range of the drill chuck is too small. Insert the tool deeper
into the drill chuck.
