10. Faults

Troubleshooting
A fault on the device or on a connected load can be indi
cated by a tripped line circuit breaker / residual current
device.
If a circuit breaker trips, follow the procedure described
below.
A line circuit breaker / residual current device can
be triggered due to a residual current or an over
loaded electrical circuit.
Situation 1: A circuit breaker is triggered
f Visually inspect the device and the connected electrical
consumers for exterior damage.
Option 1.1: Device / electrical consumer is faulty
f Take the device / electrical consumer out of service.
f Charge a qualified electrician with inspection and repair.
Option 1.2: Device / electrical consumer is not faulty
f Disconnect the electrical consumer of the tripped circuit
from the device.
f Switch on the tripped circuit breaker again.
Situation 2: Circuit breaker is triggered again
f Take the device out of service.
f Charge a qualified electrician with inspection and repair.
Situation 3: Circuit breaker remains switched on
f Reconnect the disconnected electrical consumer.
Situation 4: Circuit breaker is triggered again

Defective electrical consumer.
f Take the affected electrical consumer out of service or
unplug at the device.
If the residual current device (RCD) has been
tripped, all residual current circuit breakers in the
electric circuit of the electrical installation and the
circuit breakers of the used feed point must be
checked for correct functioning and effectiveness
by a qualified electrician. Observe the country
specific regulations.
