6.3 USING AS JUMP-START ASSISTANCE FOR 12 V VEHICLES

6.3.1 CONNECTING THE BATTERY CHARGER

Caution: Make sure that the charger is not connected to the power socket. Always first connect the
red plus cable (+) of the charger to the plus pole of the battery. Then connect the black negative cable
(-) to the car body (exposed part), far away from the battery, the carburettor and fuel lines. Always
maintain this sequence.
Now, connect the charger to the mains socket.

6.3.2 SETTING THE BATTERY CHARGER

First, in the function selection control panel (Position 4 in the overview) use the selection switch for the operating
mode (Position 4.3 in the overview) to set the jump-start 100 A function.

6.3.3 JUMP-START PROCEDURE

Press the Start/Stop button. Start the motor. Do not operate the starter for longer than 6 seconds. If the start
attempt is not successful, wait for at least three minutes before starting the next attempt. After the third failed
attempt, do not attempt again. Instead, check your vehicle for faults.
When the engine is running, press the Start/Stop button and pull the plug of the charger from the mains socket.
Then first remove the black callipers (-) and then the red callipers (+). Always maintain this sequence.

6.4 GENERATOR TEST

6.4.1 CONNECTING THE BATTERY CHARGER
Caution: Make sure that the charger is not connected to the power socket. Always first connect the red
plus cable (+) of the charger to the plus pole of the battery. Then connect the black negative cable (-)
to the car body (exposed part), far away from the battery, the carburettor, fuel lines and rotating parts
of the engine. Always maintain this sequence.

6.4.2 EXECUTING THE GENERATOR TEST

The display (Position 1 in the overview) now shows the current voltage of the vehicle battery. Now press the „Test"
button (Position 5.3 in the overview) and start the vehicle engine. If the control lamp „OK" (Position 5.2 in the
overview) lights up, the generator of the vehicle is operating properly. If the control lamp „Error" (Position 5.1 in the
overview) lights up, the charge voltage of the generator is outside the tolerance. In this case, have the generator of
the vehicle checked by a specialist workshop.
CAUTION: In the event of an error message, have your vehicle checked by a specialist workshop since
the device is not able to take all intended charge voltages into account.

6.5 USE AS CONSTANT-CURRENT SOURCE

Plug the plug of the charger into the mains socket. In the function selection control panel (Position 4 in the over-
view) use the selection switch for the operating mode (Position 4.3 in the overview) to set the „13.6V constant"
function. Now you can draw a voltage of 13.6 V (idle) at the pole callipers in order to operate small devices suitable
for this voltage.
