Cleaning and disinfection

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
All sliding aids, except the Flites, should be
cleaned when they are soiled or stained and
between patients.
Flites - Do NOT wash
CAUTION
Do NOT wash Flites. Flites are only
intended for "single patient use".
Do not wet wipe, wash, disinfect, or soil the Flites
sliding aid. If the sliding aid has been subjected to
any such treatment, it must be discarded.
A visible and intact water dissolving label indicates
that the sliding aid has not been subjected to
washing. If you are uncertain whether your Flites
sliding aid has been washed or not, check that the
green, water dissolving label (A) stitched to the
sliding aid on the left side of the care label (B), is
intact. (See Figure 18) If the label (A) is completely
or partially dissolved, the sliding aid must be
discarded.
Machine washable sliding aids
The MaxiSlide Sheet and MaxiTube can be wiped
clean using either a chlorine based solution (up to
10,000 ppm), or an alcohol based solution (up to
70%). No disinfection is allowed.
In addition they can be washed at a maximum
temperature of 80 C (176 F), and drip dried.
