CARE AND CLEANING

The following are the Arjo recommended cleaning procedures for the TheraKair Visio MRS and
periodic maintenance for the therapy unit while in use.

Daily Care and Cleaning of TheraKair Visio MRS While in Use

The patient need not be removed from the TheraKair Visio MRS when performing
daily cleaning procedures.

Mattress

1. Press the InstaFlate function button on the Home screen to access the InstaFlate function
screen.
2. Press the ON button on the InstaFlate function screen to activate InstaFlate function.
3. Verify the side rails on both sides of the bed are locked in the full upright position.
4. Gently roll the patient to one side of the mattress.
5. Wipe the cover sheet as required with soap and water or approved hospital germicide,
according to individual hospital policy.
6. Extensively soiled cover sheet or mattress should be replaced and laundered. Refer to the
Weekly Care and Cleaning section of this chapter for cleaning procedures.
7. Return the patient to the center of the mattress.
8. If InstaFlate function is still active, press the OFF button on the InstaFlate function screen
and exit the screen to resume therapy at previous settings.

Therapy Unit Screen

The Therapy Unit screen should be cleaned daily, or more often as required.
The Control screen display should be locked before cleaning.
Pressing on the Home screen, and holding for three seconds will lock / unlock the control
screen display.

Use only non-abrasive cleaning products on the therapy unit and control screen.
