4.1.3 Mounting the pH and Redox sensors

The sensors (notably the Redox sensor) should be mounted before the filter and the heating system so that
sensor readings are representative of actual values in the pool. Impurities accumulated in the filter medium
remove Chlorine from the water as it passes through the filter, in addition, Chlorine can be degraded on
contact with heating elements and hot exchanger plates in the heating system.
Sensors are mounted in housings (see below) to be screwed into the tapped orifice in the sensor housing.
The sensor feed heads should point up. They should not be located at a "high" point of the hydraulic
circuit to avoid them being exposed to air should air be introduced into the system.
To stop the sensors from being damaged by gravel or sand, the by-pass valves should be set to slow
the flow of water through the by-pass circuit.
Remove the sensors from their storage flasks and install them carefully in the pipe only after the circuit
has been filled with water. Keep the flasks to store the sensors in the event that they are removed for
winterizing.
Sensor cables should not be run through sheaths containing other electrical cables, to avoid
interference.

4.1.4 Mounting the pH reducer injection pump

The suction and injection tubes are 2 m long.
Respect the max. suction height between the pump and the pH reducer tank: 1.5 m max.
Insert one end of the tube in the connection located near the cell head and tighten the 1/2" barrel union.
The other end should be placed at the bottom of the tank containing the acid; it should not be possible
to remove the tube by simply pulling on it.
The tank holding the acid should be stable and located out of the reach of children.
