7. Insert two serial patient connections into serial port of left lower jar and right upper jar.
8. Insert coloured angle piece into the patient ports of the liners. Connect the serial patient con-
nections with the neighboring jars.
9. Attach desired patient tubing to coloured angle piece of first and last jars.

Safety related tip
When using serial connection, the flow rate of the suction source is reduced. Make sure
the flow rate is still adequate for your desired application.
1. Insert required number of jars into jar holder. Remove mechanical overflow protection from all
jars except the front jar.
2. Attach lids and put a reusable serial connector in the vacuum ports of all jars except the
front jar. The tubing shall point towards the previous jar.
3. Connect the tubing of the reusable serial connectors with the patient port of the previous jar.
4. a. Take suction tubing from the vacuum source and pull from below the jar holder through
the hole closest to the front jar.
b. Plug in suction tubing into vacuum port on lid of front jar.
c. Connect desired patient tubing to the patient port on the right lower (= last) jar.

Reusable Collection System: Change-over valve (chapter G)

Safety related tip
When using change-over valve, suction is switched from one jar to the other manually.
No reduction in flow rate is to be expected.
1. Insert a jar, having the overflow protection attached, to each side of the change-over valve.
2. a. Connect the left tubing from the change-over valve to the left jar. Do the same for the right
side.
b. Connect suction tubing from the vacuum source to the change-over valve, leading the
suction tubing from below through a hole in the jar holder to the jar.
3. Attach desired patient tubing to the patient ports of the left and right jars.
