1. WaRnings

1.1 general

The TRI-KA and its components must only be used in combination
with components (such as measuring cables etc.) approved by
TRITEC. The use of third-party components can affect the safety
of the devices and result in significant damages. The devices must
only be used by trained and competent personnel. We do not ac-
cept liability for damages resulting from the use of third-party
components or incorrect handling or operation. The devices must
at no time be opened. Do not carry out any service, maintenance
or repairs on the instruments. Return instruments to TRITEC for
recalibration or repair.

1.2 used symbols

Completely double or reinforced insulation
(protection class II)
Warning – danger! Follow the documentation!
Placed before hints that must be followed to avoid
damages to materials and persons.
Follow all documentation accompanying
the measuring device.
Caution High Voltage, Danger to Life
Measuring devices must not be disposed of with
household rubbish.

1.3 tRi-Ka

The TRI-KA characteristics analyser should only be used for pho-
tovoltaic systems. Depending on the country, the device is only
approved for limited maximum currents and voltages. Please see
technical data on page 16. Solar modules exposed to sunlight pro-
duce voltage and current. The connectors and other live parts
may pose a risk of high voltage even under cloudy conditions and
diffuse irradiation!
When working on photovoltaic systems, it is vital that the fol-
lowing safety regulations are observed!
The measuring device must only be used by specialist electricians
trained in using the device. Improper handling of the system can
lead to serious accidents and injury. Power or voltage sources
other than solar modules may irreparably damage the measuring
instrument.

1.4 Measuring cables

Do not disconnect the measuring cables during measurements!
The resulting electric arcs may cause serious injury and irreparably
damage the plug connectors and the measuring instrument.
