Result explained - see tables below.
80% to 100% - Expected of a new battery; the battery is ready to be used. No further charging is required, but
if left connected the program continues to STEP 10 for a final cell balancing charge.
60 to 80% - The battery may have lost capacity, but is still serviceable. Leave connected to proceed to STEP
10.
Less than 60% - The battery may be unservicable. Testing continues for an additional 11 1/2 hours, to allow
the battery more time to cool/settle. If the result improves to 60% charging may continue to STEP 10,
otherwise charging is suspended. Read NOTES below.
Pb (lead-acid) test result:
IMPORTANT - STD (wet-cell) batteries hold a lower open circuit voltage than AGM/VRLA batteries.

NOTES: A battery charged in high ambient temperature environment (30-45°C/86-113°F), or a battery
recovered from a deep discharged state may need longer to cool/settle to better reflect its true state of charge
(SOC%).
A battery charged and tested below 0°C/32°F or above 45°C/113°F may not have received a complete charge,
resulting in a lower State Of Charge result.
ERROR! LED #8 blinking rapidly - ERROR!
Charging has been suspended:
1) if the ambient temperature is below -20°C/-4°F or above 55°C / 131°F, indicated by the selected mode LED
(Pb / LFP) blinking together with LED #8.
Corrective action: When the temperature is back within range the selected mode LED will stop blinking and
turn full on. Press and release the pushbutton to cancel the error (LED #8) for charging to continue.
2) during SAVE mode or the Voltage Retention Test. The battery may have suffered fatal damage and may be
unserviceable.
Corrective action: Thoroughly inspect the battery; refer to Section A. Preparing to charge, Very flat
neglected batteries. If damage is suspected, disconnect the battery and do not charge further. Otherwise,
press and release the pushbutton to cancel the error (LED #8) for charging to continue. IMPORTANT: If the
Error repeats, DO NOT CHARGE AGAIN!
LED #6 or #6/7 - FINAL CHARGE
STEP 10 - The ampmatic™ current control program now delivers pulses of current up to a voltage of
14.4V, to equalise the individual cells within the battery and optimizes charge level. Charge time is 2h / 120
minutes.
STEP 11 - the MAINTENANCE CHARGE CYCLE consists of 30 minute charge periods followed by and alternating
