Verify that MIDI transmission and reception occur
correctly.
From the MIDI menu, choose Check Connections.

If you have connected a
MIDI sound module to the
UM-1X's MIDI OUT
connector, click the MIDI
connector icon shown in the
diagram at right. If you
hear sound from your
sound module, the settings are correct.

Once again choose the MIDI menu command Check
Connections to end the test.

From the File menu, choose Quit to exit FreeMIDI
Setup.

Make MIDI device settings on your sequencer
software.
In the MIDI input/output settings of your sequencer
software, select the UM-1X's Port 1.
This completes connections for the UM-1X and
Macintosh, and installation of the MIDI driver.
Getting Connected and Installing Drivers (Macintosh)
There will be no sound if you
have not connected a MIDI
sound module to the UM-1X.
For details on connecting your
MIDI sound module, refer to
the owner's manual of your
MIDI sound module.
For details on MIDI device
settings, refer to the owner's
manual for the software you
are using.
For information on the MIDI
equipment you connect to the
UM-1X, please contact the
manufacturer of your MIDI
equipment.
