SORHEA
Barrier disqualification due to fog :
When visibility diminishes, the optical range of a barrier diminishes according to a well-established
law of physics. Knowledge of this law of variation allows quantification of the performance range of
COLIRIS II barriers in relation to the international code of visibility.

The curve above indicates the nominal range of COLIRIS II barriers related to conditions of visibility.
In order to ensure all-weather operation, the installation range must not exceed 100 m in regions
where fog can be very dense.
Each COLIRIS II column continuously analyzes the incoming infrared signal received by each of its
cells. When the signal becomes lower than the minimal threshold ensuring all-weather detection, the
corresponding cell is automatically removed from the detection process. If the phenomenon persists
for a period ≥ 1 minute, a disqualification alarm is generated.
