Cleaning and disinfecting

Clean and disinfect the facepiece after every use.
WARNING
!
The mask body must be cleaned sufficiently thoroughly that
no residues from skin care products remain on it.
Otherwise the elasticity in the sealing area can be lost and
the facepiece will no longer sit correctly.
Failure to take note of this warning can result in poisoning or
death.
CAUTION
!
Never use any solvents (e.g. acetone, alcohol) or scouring
agents to clean and disinfect the facepiece. Only use the
methods described and the cleaning agents and disinfectants
listed below. Agents, doses and exposure times that deviate
from the specifications can cause damage to the facepiece.
In undiluted form such agents are harmful to health if they
come into direct contact with eyes or skin. Always wear pro-
tective goggles and protective gloves when working with
these agents.
Do not use a cloth to clean or dry the inside of facepieces with
visors that are marked "PCaf", as the coating can be dam-
aged as a result. After drying, facepieces should be aired un-
packed for at least one day under standard climatic
conditions according to DIN EN ISO 291, so that the coating
can regenerate and the optimum working life is achieved.

Clean and disinfect the facepiece as follows:
1. Remove accessories before cleaning and clean separately
2. Clean the facepiece using water (max. 30 °C) with a universal
cleaning agent Sekusept
tion) added and a cloth. Immediately afterwards, remove the
cleaning agent completely under running water.
3. Put the facepiece in the disinfectant bath (max. 30 °C) with
®
Incidur
disinfectant (2% solution) for 15 minutes. Immediately af-
terwards, remove the disinfectant completely under running water.
4. Leave the facepiece to dry completely in a drying cabinet or in the
open air. Temperature max. 60 °C. Do not expose to direct sun-
light.
5. Relubricate the sliding surfaces (ball joint, guide plate) of the
mask/helmet adapter with Voltalev
6. Apply a thin layer of Vaseline or Molykote
of the connector (Figure A3-18 on page 3).
NOTICE
i
i
The facepiece is also suitable for mechanical cleaning and
disinfection. Further information can be obtained from Dräger.
4.3

Leak tests

The leak test should be performed with an appropriate test device
(e. g. the Testor or Quaestor series).
NOTICE
i
i
When testing facepieces sized L or S, place the mask care-
fully on the test heads sized M, since the face seal is not op-
timally sealed at times. Moistening the face seal facilitates the
exact donning because the mask can slide better on the rub-
ber test heads.
