Use
Leak test without breathing filter or breathing apparatus.
1. Close the connector with the heel of your hand.
2. Inhale, then hold your breath. No entry of air should be
perceived, otherwise check the fit of the mask.
The exhaled air must escape through the exhalation
valve without resistance.

3. Repeat the tight fit test twice.

4. Screw breathing apparatus or respiratory filter into the
connector until it is tightly seated. Have a second person
check the firmness and correct connection.
5. Connect self-contained breathing apparatus or line
breathing apparatus, if necessary.

5. Turn and pull the breathing apparatus to check for tight
fit. Have a second person check the firmness and correct
connection.
6. Connect self-contained breathing apparatus or line
breathing apparatus, if necessary.

WARNING for RA/ESA Connectors
!
For use with respirator filters:
The ambient air must contain at least 17% of oxygen; observe
country-specific regulations, where necessary. Never enter
unventilated tanks, pits, canals, etc. when wearing filter
equipment. The type of pollutants must be known, choose
corresponding breathing filter. Strictly follow the Instructions
for Use of the respiratory filter!
Low temperatures
Use anti-fog coated visors (PCaf) or use anti-fog agent "klarpilot gel"
to prevent visor inside from steaming up. Use "klar-pilot comfort" to
prevent the anti-scratch coated visors (PCas) from steaming up.
High temperatures/Thermal cycling

Leave the danger zone immediately after noticing any signs
of damage, e. g. bubbles in the visor.
The coating may dissolve in some places on visors marked with PCas
and PCaf. The facepiece is fully serviceable until the end of the oper-
ation. Replace visor after use.
Chemicals
Some substances may be absorbed by the material of the mask body or
may possibly diffuse into it. Further information can be obtained from
Dräger.
