3.5 Taking off the breathing filter or breathing
apparatus
RA Unscrew the breathing filter or breathing apparatus.
PE Unscrew the breathing apparatus.
Unscrew the breathing filter or press buttons on the
ESA breathing apparatus and simultaneously pull the breath-
ing apparatus out of the connector.
Press the button (Figure A3-25 on page 3) and simulta-
P neously pull the breathing apparatus out of the connec-
tor.

Removing the facepiece

1. Pull the adjuster buckles of the neck straps forward with
Full face your thumb and loosen the straps (Figure E on page 3).
mask 2. Pull the full face mask away from the face over the
head.
NOTICE

To prevent damage, avoid pulling the connector!
Mask/helmet 1. Pull both mask/helmet adapters evenly to the rear,
combination then flip them away from the helmet.
with adapter 2. Take off the facepiece.
H61 (S-fix)
1. Pull both mask/helmet adapters forward slightly.
Mask/helmet 2. Press and hold the snap fasteners on both mask/
combination helmet adapters.
with adapter 3. Pull both mask/helmet adapters evenly to the rear,
H62 (Q-fix) then flip them away from the helmet.
4. Take off the facepiece.

The following information is taken from BGR 190, one of the Regula-
tions of the Employer's Liability Insurance Association in Germany.
