4.5- Hydraulic system venting cap
Always open the dipstick cap (A) before starting the log splitter.
- Loosen the dipstick cap by a few turns, so that air can escape from
the oil tank.
- Always leave the cap opened during operation.
- Tighten the cap after finishing operation.
- Close the cap before moving the machine. Otherwise oil may leak.
Note: if the hydraulic system is not vented, the trapped air will
damage the seals and thus the log splitter.
4.6- Moving the Log Splitter
Before moving or transporting the log splitter, disconnnect from the mains power supply.
Make sure the oil dipstick cap is securely tightened
Make sure the oil drain screw is securely tightened.
Make sure the cylinder is brought downwards to transport position.
By hand
WARNING: The log splitter is very heavy, DO NOT move by hand if you are not physically strong
enough, as a falling or tripping machine may cause considerable damage and severe injury!!
- The log splitter is equipped with 2 wheels for minor moving.
- To move the log splitter to the work area, grip the handle and slightly incline the log splitter backward
until it tilts onto the wheels and thus can be moved.
- The wheels are not intended to transport or tow the log splitter over a long distance.
- Do not tow on open road.
- Do not use the log splitter to transport people, animals or objects.
By tools, such as forklift truck / lifting carts
- The machine should be securely mounted on a pallet secured with steel tapes and protected by a plastic
film.
- To lift it off the pallet, several persons or technical resources are required.
Note: The centre of gravity of the log splitter is high – risk of tipping over!
By crane
- Never lift the log splitter by the splitting knife (wedge).
- Never lift the log splitter by the handle.
- Put the lifting gear (e.g. lashing belt) around the column under the upper retaining arms brackets.
Transporting the log splitter
- When transporting in a vehicle, make sure to firmly secure the machine with no parts protruding
outside the vehicle to avoid a danger (e.g. fall, injury, damage; ...)
4.7- Maximum pressure limiting device
- The maximum pressure was set before the log splitter left the factory and the maximum pressure
